With a little know-how, you can thaw frozen spots in exposed pipes and in pipes that are buried in walls or ceilings.

If you have a pipe that has frozen, there are a few things that you can do in order to thaw it out. First, you will want to turn off the water to the pipe. Next, you will want to apply heat to the pipe. You can do this by using a hair dryer, a heat lamp, or even a space heater. You will want to apply the heat for several minutes, until the ice has melted. Once the ice has melted, you can turn the water back on and flush the pipe out.
